Ball Gags

Ball gags are often used for dominance and submission scenarios and can seem a little scary if you've never used them before. But don't worry! Ball gags are a great way to build confidence, show vulnerability and enjoy safe submission during a BDSM session.

The ball-shaped mouth gag - also called "ball gag" - is probably the most erotic of all gags. It fits almost ideally in the mouth and the sight of a sexy facial expression with a round, shiny ball between the half-closed lips is erotic to almost everyone with a little soft spot for BDSM. Ball gags don't immediately look as uncomfortable and brute as ring gags or mouth spreaders, and so ball gags have a firm place even among people with no previous experience and in soft BDSM.

A ball gag makes it easier for the sub to settle into the submissive role. The ability to articulate is strongly restricted. This increases the feeling of being "at the mercy", which can increase sexual arousal.

Ball gags are available at MEO in many sizes, colors and materials, so there should be something for every taste and individual requirement.

A ball gag naturally belongs in the mouth of the passive part, which prevents the sub from speaking and thus feels more "at the mercy". The ball belongs behind the front teeth and fills the mouth more or less strongly. The size of the gag ball of course plays a decisive role. The larger the ball, the wider the mouth has to be opened, making it more difficult to speak. As a rule, a gag band is used to prevent the gag from being spat out or pushed out of the mouth with the tongue. This band - usually made of rubber or leather - is passed through a central hole through the ball and closed behind the head of the gagged person. The gag strap also prevents accidental swallowing of the ball. Safety, of course, plays an essential role in gagging.

Ideally, the use of a gag is combined with the bondage of the passive partner, whereby the latter is not only restricted in movement by the bondage, but also in the manner of articulation. The active person thus emphasizes the dominant role and takes control over Sub. Another side effect, not exactly unwanted by most, is the increased salivation: saliva is formed more by wearing a gag and swallowing is made more difficult - "drooling", the leakage of saliva from the mouth, occurs. The formation of saliva can - if desired - also be further enhanced by lemon juice. Coat the gag ball with lemon juice for this purpose or drizzle it on the lips of the gagged person and enjoy the sexy drooling of your sub.

You can also give your sub the task to read you a poem or something similar. Of course with ball gag in your mouth. Your sub will have to make an effort so that you understand what is being mumbled. Otherwise the sub will have to be punished ...

A very charming way to play with the ball gag is a winter walk in the park or over the Christmas market. Your sub wears the ball gag in his mouth, covered for example by a thick scarf. A walk that you will probably not forget so quickly. Should you meet someone you know while walking, you'll have to improvise to avoid a conversation. That is exactly the attraction ...

Ball gag made of rubber, silicone or what?

A little material knowledge

Ball gags are made of different materials, whereby everyone should have his favorite material. Mouth gags made of plastic are very robust and easy to clean. Mouth gags made of natural rubber have the advantage that they are softer than hard plastic, which has an advantageous effect on the wearing comfort. Especially when wearing the gag for a slightly longer period of time. Silicone ball gags have a similar consistency to balls made of rubber, but silicone has the unbeatable advantage of being completely tasteless (unlike some rubber) and also extremely easy to clean. Silicone is extremely skin-friendly, as it does not contain any softeners or similar substances that could cause allergies. There are also ball gags made of silicone with breathing holes that allow the sub to breathe through the mouth, which is usually not very possible. Less commonly, ball gags are made of wood or metal, as these materials are very hard and quite uncomfortable to wear, and may also have a negative effect on the integrity of the teeth.

Ball gag - which size should you choose?

Besides the material, the size is quite crucial when choosing the right ball gag. Ideally, the gag ball should be large enough to achieve an effect desired by the top or sub - for example, restricting the ability to speak. Smaller gag balls may not fulfill this purpose to the desired degree, so a larger gag ball is needed.  However, the diameter of the ball should also not be too large, as otherwise the ability to swallow may be restricted too much. It can also happen that the ball blocks the airway and fun quickly becomes serious. The selection of the right size must therefore be done with care and in case of doubt you should rather make do with a slightly smaller ball.

Important precautions when gagging

For inexperienced people, a gag may seem a bit strange at first and you also have to get used to using it slowly. Many gagged persons experience a gag reflex at the beginning, but this can be trained away with time. In any case, you should take it slowly at the beginning. So ask the active person for some patience. It takes a lot of empathy and responsibility to put a gag on a passive person. The slower you take it, the more fun you will have later. On the other hand, a too fast, impatient approach can rapidly spoil the passive person's fun for a long time.

An undesirable side effect that often occurs when gagging is that the gag tape cuts into the corners of the mouth. So when choosing your gag, make sure it is the right design and made of the right material. Our carefully stitched gag straps made of soft cowhide have rounded edges that minimize cutting into the corners of the mouth. But we also carry gags with round projections made of silicone or ball gags with a round stainless steel bow, which gently fits into the corners of the mouth and also looks absolutely usexy.

Finally, the most important thing: a gagged person should never be left unattended! Since most gags allow saliva to flow out poorly or not at all, saliva could enter the respiratory tract and the gagged person could choke on it, which in the worst case could lead to suffocation. In addition, a gag reflex can occur very suddenly and unexpectedly, and it must be possible to remove the gag quickly at any time. Other dangers include sudden swelling of the nasal mucous membranes (stuffy nose) with loss of the ability to breathe through the nose, or sudden vomiting, which can also result in suffocation. For these reasons, a gagged person should never be left unattended!
