General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
At MEO, we attach great importance to transparency and product safety. Within the framework of current EU regulations, we ensure that all our products meet the highest safety standards in order to offer our customers a responsible and worry-free shopping experience. To make the terms and abbreviations we use easier to understand, we have created an overview that explains all relevant definitions and meanings. This overview helps you to better understand the properties, certifications and international standards of our products.
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
The GPSR ensures that all products sold in the EU meet basic safety requirements. It serves to protect consumers and ensures that our products can be used safely.
Product Safety Act (ProdSG)
The German law implementing the GPSR is the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This law ensures that products placed on the market in Germany are safe and free from risks for consumers.
WEEE Directive
The WEEE Directive promotes the environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment in order to avoid electronic waste. Our products that fall under this directive are labeled accordingly and contribute to sustainability through their recyclability.
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
The ElektroG implements the WEEE Directive and regulates the proper disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. MEO assumes responsibility for the proper take-back and disposal of electronic products.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
The RoHS Directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to protect the environment and human health.
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals)
The REACH regulation ensures that all chemicals used in the EU are tested for potential risks. Our materials are compliant and do not contain any harmful chemicals that could make skin contact dangerous.
UN 38.3
This regulation concerns the safe transportation of lithium batteries and accumulators. Products with built-in or external lithium batteries are tested in accordance with this standard to ensure that the batteries do not present a hazard during transportation.
UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed)
After Brexit, products sold in the UK must bear the UKCA mark. This mark confirms that the product complies with British safety standards and is safe to use.
CE marking
The CE mark indicates that these products comply with European safety, health and environmental requirements. It is mandatory for product categories that are regulated by specific directives in the EU, such as electrical appliances, toys, medical devices and personal protective equipment. The CE marking confirms that these products are safe for their intended use and meet all legal requirements.
EU Declaration of Conformity
The EU Declaration of Conformity is a confirmation from the manufacturer that the product complies with all EU directives. It ensures that our products comply with the applicable EU directives and can be used safely.
RED Directive (Radio Equipment Directive)
The RED Directive is required for products that use radio technologies such as Bluetooth or other wireless connections. It ensures that these products comply with safety standards and do not cause interference with other devices.
IP protection class (International Protection Marking)
The IP protection classes indicate how well a product is protected against the ingress of foreign bodies such as dust and water. The abbreviation "IP" stands for "Ingress Protection" and is supplemented by two numbers that indicate the degree of protection. The first number describes the protection against solid foreign bodies, e.g. dust or contact. It ranges from 0 (no protection) to 6 (completely dustproof). The second number indicates the protection against water and ranges from 0 (no protection) to 9 (protected against high-pressure water at a certain temperature). For example, protection class IP67 means that the product is fully protected against dust (6) and is also resistant to temporary immersion in water (7). Products with an IPX7 rating would be specifically protected against water, but without any indication of protection against solid foreign bodies. For our customers, the IP protection class therefore indicates whether and how a product is suitable for certain conditions, such as use in wet environments or intensive contact with dust.
At MEO, we are committed to ensuring that our manufacturers and suppliers comply with all these regulations in order to offer our customers safety, quality and responsible product selection.

Product category | Sexual Wellness
Product description | Condoms
Product note | Condoms are one of the most effective methods of protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies. However, they must always be used correctly to ensure their effectiveness. Before use, it is important to check the expiration date on the packaging, as condoms that have expired are no longer safe. Condoms should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat, which could weaken the material. When opening the packaging, care should be taken not to damage the condom with sharp objects such as fingernails, jewelry or teeth. A condom should only be rolled over a fully erect penis or sex toy, with the reservoir at the tip of the condom held between thumb and forefinger to make room for the ejaculate. When using condoms, it is advisable to use a lube to reduce friction and minimize the risk of tears. It is important that only water-based or silicone-based lubes are used, as oil-based lubes (such as Vaseline or massage oils) can attack the latex material and thus impair the protective effect. After ejaculation, the condom should be removed immediately and carefully before the erection subsides. The condom should be removed from the penis and disposed of in the household waste wrapped in a tissue. Condoms do not belong in the toilet as they can clog it and pollute the environment. Condoms are disposable products and should not be used more than once. A new condom should be used after every sexual intercourse or after changing from vaginal to anal penetration in order to avoid infections. People with a latex allergy should use latex-free condoms made of materials such as polyurethane or polyisoprene. It is also advisable to always have condoms to hand so that you can use them if necessary. The outer packaging and instructions for use should be kept as they may contain important information about the safety and use of the product.
Brand name | SAFE | |
Materials and/or ingredients | Ingredients: cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, Latex
Warnings Materials and/or ingredients | Latex Latex products are usually made of natural rubber, which is known for its elasticity and durability. However, latex can cause allergic reactions in some people, especially those who are allergic to latex. Symptoms may include skin irritation, breathing difficulties or more severe reactions. In the case of known allergies, it is recommended to avoid direct contact with latex and switch to latex-free alternatives. In addition, latex products should not be exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can lead to material fatigue and loss of elasticity.
Product features | temperature sensitive
Warnings about product properties | Temperature-sensitive products such as sex toys, clothing made of certain materials such as latex, cosmetics, lubes and condoms should always be used and stored within the temperature limits recommended by the manufacturer. These products can be damaged by extreme temperatures such as too much heat or too much cold. For example, latex clothing can become brittle in the heat or inelastic in the cold. Cosmetics and lubes can lose their consistency, effectiveness or compatibility at extreme temperatures. Condoms made of latex or other materials can become porous or brittle due to heat or cold and thus lose their protective function. Care should be taken to ensure that such products are stored at room temperature and not in the immediate vicinity of radiators, in direct sunlight or in a cold environment. When using temperature-sensitive cosmetics or lubricants, make sure that they are at a comfortable temperature for the body before use to avoid irritation or discomfort. Products made of latex, such as condoms or clothing, should be checked for cracks or deformations caused by improper storage before use. Care should also be taken to ensure that lubricants have not lost their original consistency, as this could indicate reduced quality. Condoms should always be stored in a dry and cool place. Storing them in a trouser pocket or in other places that are exposed to temperature fluctuations or friction can impair the integrity of the condoms. After use, temperature-sensitive products such as sex toys or clothing should be stored in a dry, cool and light-protected place to ensure their shelf life and functionality. Airtight packaging can help to protect lubes, cosmetics and condoms in particular from external influences. To ensure the safety and shelf life of the products, it is essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions for storage and use.
Cleaning and hygiene | Please observe the manufacturer's instructions. These can be found in the product description or on the outer packaging of the product.
Packaging | Condoms are supplied in hygienic individual packaging to protect them from external influences such as dirt, moisture and UV radiation. The packaging is usually made of aluminum foil or coated paper and ensures that the condom remains intact and sterile until it is used. The packaging is provided with the necessary information, including expiration date, CE marking and product information that complies with European safety standards. It is recommended that the packaging is only opened immediately before use and care should be taken not to damage it with sharp objects, as this could compromise the integrity of the condom.
Disposal instructions | Used condoms should be disposed of responsibly to minimize the impact on the environment. Condoms are usually made of latex or polyurethane, which are not biodegradable. They should not be disposed of in the toilet, as this can lead to blockages and problems in the sewage system. Used condoms should instead be wrapped in a paper tissue and disposed of with household waste. Condom packaging can also be disposed of with household waste or, if possible, via local recycling facilities, provided it is recyclable material.
Date of manufacture and import | The production and import date is indicated on the product packaging or on our label. This information creates transparency and safety by clearly identifying the date of manufacture or import of the product.
Guarantees and return conditions | The provisions of our current General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply, in particular § 9 Warranty and § 10 Limitation of Liability. Detailed information on this can be found in the full GTC.
