General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
At MEO, we attach great importance to transparency and product safety. Within the framework of current EU regulations, we ensure that all our products meet the highest safety standards in order to offer our customers a responsible and worry-free shopping experience. To make the terms and abbreviations we use easier to understand, we have created an overview that explains all relevant definitions and meanings. This overview helps you to better understand the properties, certifications and international standards of our products.
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
The GPSR ensures that all products sold in the EU meet basic safety requirements. It serves to protect consumers and ensures that our products can be used safely.
Product Safety Act (ProdSG)
The German law implementing the GPSR is the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This law ensures that products placed on the market in Germany are safe and free from risks for consumers.
WEEE Directive
The WEEE Directive promotes the environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment in order to avoid electronic waste. Our products that fall under this directive are labeled accordingly and contribute to sustainability through their recyclability.
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
The ElektroG implements the WEEE Directive and regulates the proper disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. MEO assumes responsibility for the proper take-back and disposal of electronic products.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
The RoHS Directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to protect the environment and human health.
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals)
The REACH regulation ensures that all chemicals used in the EU are tested for potential risks. Our materials are compliant and do not contain any harmful chemicals that could make skin contact dangerous.
UN 38.3
This regulation concerns the safe transportation of lithium batteries and accumulators. Products with built-in or external lithium batteries are tested in accordance with this standard to ensure that the batteries do not present a hazard during transportation.
UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed)
After Brexit, products sold in the UK must bear the UKCA mark. This mark confirms that the product complies with British safety standards and is safe to use.
CE marking
The CE mark indicates that these products comply with European safety, health and environmental requirements. It is mandatory for product categories that are regulated by specific directives in the EU, such as electrical appliances, toys, medical devices and personal protective equipment. The CE marking confirms that these products are safe for their intended use and meet all legal requirements.
EU Declaration of Conformity
The EU Declaration of Conformity is a confirmation from the manufacturer that the product complies with all EU directives. It ensures that our products comply with the applicable EU directives and can be used safely.
RED Directive (Radio Equipment Directive)
The RED Directive is required for products that use radio technologies such as Bluetooth or other wireless connections. It ensures that these products comply with safety standards and do not cause interference with other devices.
IP protection class (International Protection Marking)
The IP protection classes indicate how well a product is protected against the ingress of foreign bodies such as dust and water. The abbreviation "IP" stands for "Ingress Protection" and is supplemented by two numbers that indicate the degree of protection. The first number describes the protection against solid foreign bodies, e.g. dust or contact. It ranges from 0 (no protection) to 6 (completely dustproof). The second number indicates the protection against water and ranges from 0 (no protection) to 9 (protected against high-pressure water at a certain temperature). For example, protection class IP67 means that the product is fully protected against dust (6) and is also resistant to temporary immersion in water (7). Products with an IPX7 rating would be specifically protected against water, but without any indication of protection against solid foreign bodies. For our customers, the IP protection class therefore indicates whether and how a product is suitable for certain conditions, such as use in wet environments or intensive contact with dust.
At MEO, we are committed to ensuring that our manufacturers and suppliers comply with all these regulations in order to offer our customers safety, quality and responsible product selection.

Product description | Leash
Product note | A leash or lead line is normally combined with a collar and should be checked regularly for wear and damage to ensure safety during use. It is important that the lead has no tears, fraying or other signs of wear that could affect its stability. In particular, if the line is fitted with metal parts such as a snap hook, care must be taken to ensure that these are firmly attached and not corroded to ensure reliable operation. Metal parts may contain nickel, which should be taken into account for people with allergies. The line should not be excessively tensioned or loaded in order to avoid material fatigue. It is also advisable to clean the leash regularly, especially if it has been subjected to heavy use or has come into contact with dirt. Follow the manufacturer's care instructions to prolong the life of the material. Lines should be stored in a dry place to prevent moisture damage or mold growth.

Materials and/or ingredients | Imitation leather, Metal
Warnings Materials and/or ingredients | Imitation leather Artificial leather, also known as synthetic leather or imitation leather, consists of a textile base material (often polyester or cotton) covered with a layer of plastic. The most commonly used plastics for the production of artificial leather are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyurethane (PU). These materials are used to achieve a leather-like look and feel, but are cheaper and often easier to care for than real leather. Synthetic leather products should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a mild detergent to remove dirt and perspiration. Aggressive chemicals should be avoided as they can damage the material or corrode the surface. Synthetic leather should be protected from extreme heat and direct sunlight, as these can make the material brittle and cause cracks. People who are sensitive to plastics or chemical components should be aware of possible allergic reactions when using the product. Metal Metal parts of the product may contain nickel: When using the product, please note that the product or its components may contain nickel. Nickel can cause allergic reactions in some people. The product should not be used if you are known to be allergic to nickel.
Cleaning and hygiene | Thoroughly clean all products used before and after each use to ensure hygiene. Use suitable cleaning agents as indicated on the outer packaging or in our product description. The manufacturer's care instructions must be observed.
Packaging | To reduce packaging waste and make our products as environmentally friendly as possible, we use reusable and recyclable materials. The products are packaged in bags made of LDPE film (low-density polyethylene) or OPP film (oriented polypropylene), which are known for their high recyclability. In addition, some packaging contains silica gel bags, which are used to absorb moisture and protect the quality of the items. These bags are necessary to optimally protect the product during storage and transportation. Reusable velvet bags are sometimes supplied for later storage of the products, which not only offer a practical storage option, but also help to reduce single-use packaging.
Disposal instructions | Our packaging materials are recyclable and can be disposed of via the local recycling and disposal systems. It is recommended to follow the local guidelines for the disposal of plastic films to ensure the best possible recycling. Silica gel bags should be disposed of with household waste as they are not recyclable. These bags are not suitable for consumption and must be kept out of the reach of children and pets as silica gel can be harmful to health. As a responsible company, MEO is registered with the relevant packaging registers such as the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR) in Germany and participates in dual systems such as Zentek. This ensures that all legal requirements for the licensing and recycling of packaging in the respective countries are met. The packaging materials are labeled accordingly to enable simple and environmentally friendly disposal. These measures minimize the ecological footprint and help to conserve valuable resources.
Date of manufacture and import | The production and import date is indicated on the product packaging or on our label. This information creates transparency and safety by clearly identifying the date of manufacture or import of the product.
Guarantees and return conditions | The provisions of our current General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply, in particular § 9 Warranty and § 10 Limitation of Liability. Detailed information on this can be found in the full GTC.
