General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
At MEO, we attach great importance to transparency and product safety. Within the framework of current EU regulations, we ensure that all our products meet the highest safety standards in order to offer our customers a responsible and worry-free shopping experience. To make the terms and abbreviations we use easier to understand, we have created an overview that explains all relevant definitions and meanings. This overview helps you to better understand the properties, certifications and international standards of our products.
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
The GPSR ensures that all products sold in the EU meet basic safety requirements. It serves to protect consumers and ensures that our products can be used safely.
Product Safety Act (ProdSG)
The German law implementing the GPSR is the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This law ensures that products placed on the market in Germany are safe and free from risks for consumers.
WEEE Directive
The WEEE Directive promotes the environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment in order to avoid electronic waste. Our products that fall under this directive are labeled accordingly and contribute to sustainability through their recyclability.
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
The ElektroG implements the WEEE Directive and regulates the proper disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. MEO assumes responsibility for the proper take-back and disposal of electronic products.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
The RoHS Directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to protect the environment and human health.
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals)
The REACH regulation ensures that all chemicals used in the EU are tested for potential risks. Our materials are compliant and do not contain any harmful chemicals that could make skin contact dangerous.
UN 38.3
This regulation concerns the safe transportation of lithium batteries and accumulators. Products with built-in or external lithium batteries are tested in accordance with this standard to ensure that the batteries do not present a hazard during transportation.
UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed)
After Brexit, products sold in the UK must bear the UKCA mark. This mark confirms that the product complies with British safety standards and is safe to use.
CE marking
The CE mark indicates that these products comply with European safety, health and environmental requirements. It is mandatory for product categories that are regulated by specific directives in the EU, such as electrical appliances, toys, medical devices and personal protective equipment. The CE marking confirms that these products are safe for their intended use and meet all legal requirements.
EU Declaration of Conformity
The EU Declaration of Conformity is a confirmation from the manufacturer that the product complies with all EU directives. It ensures that our products comply with the applicable EU directives and can be used safely.
RED Directive (Radio Equipment Directive)
The RED Directive is required for products that use radio technologies such as Bluetooth or other wireless connections. It ensures that these products comply with safety standards and do not cause interference with other devices.
IP protection class (International Protection Marking)
The IP protection classes indicate how well a product is protected against the ingress of foreign bodies such as dust and water. The abbreviation "IP" stands for "Ingress Protection" and is supplemented by two numbers that indicate the degree of protection. The first number describes the protection against solid foreign bodies, e.g. dust or contact. It ranges from 0 (no protection) to 6 (completely dustproof). The second number indicates the protection against water and ranges from 0 (no protection) to 9 (protected against high-pressure water at a certain temperature). For example, protection class IP67 means that the product is fully protected against dust (6) and is also resistant to temporary immersion in water (7). Products with an IPX7 rating would be specifically protected against water, but without any indication of protection against solid foreign bodies. For our customers, the IP protection class therefore indicates whether and how a product is suitable for certain conditions, such as use in wet environments or intensive contact with dust.
At MEO, we are committed to ensuring that our manufacturers and suppliers comply with all these regulations in order to offer our customers safety, quality and responsible product selection.

Product description | Headgear
Product note | Products such as baseball caps, barrettes, beanies and other headgear made from materials such as cotton, leather, neoprene or synthetic fibers are generally safe when used properly. These products should only be worn on healthy, intact skin. If there is a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the materials used, such as latex or certain synthetic fibers, they should not be used. It is advisable to test the product on a small area of skin before using it for the first time. Headgear made of leather, neoprene or synthetic fibers can retain heat and moisture during prolonged or intensive use. It is recommended to remove the product regularly to avoid skin irritation and to promote air circulation. For hygienic reasons, these products should be cleaned regularly. Cotton and synthetic fibers can usually be washed according to the manufacturer's care instructions, while leather and neoprene should be treated with a suitable cleaning agent or a damp cloth. Before cleaning, all instructions on the label should be followed to avoid damage. The product should always be stored in a dry place, especially in the case of materials such as leather or neoprene, as moisture can affect its durability. Direct sunlight or extreme temperatures should be avoided to prevent material damage. In the case of products with elastic elements or adjustable straps, care should be taken to ensure that these are not overstretched or incorrectly loaded so as not to impair their function and fit. Headgear should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Products made of synthetic fibers or neoprene often cannot be disposed of with household waste and should be handed in at appropriate collection points. Cotton and leather are biodegradable, but require special disposal depending on the treatment. It is recommended to follow the local guidelines for the disposal of textiles and materials. The product is intended for personal use and should not be shared with other people for reasons of hygiene.

Warnings Materials and/or ingredients | Cotton Cotton products are generally kind to the skin and well tolerated, but some precautions should be taken when using cotton products, especially if they come into direct contact with sensitive areas of skin. Although cotton is generally considered skin-friendly, some people may be sensitive to chemical treatments or dyes used in the manufacture of cotton products. People with known sensitivities or allergies to such substances should test the product on a small area of skin before first use. To ensure the longevity of cotton products, the manufacturer's care instructions should be followed. This often includes washing at certain temperatures and avoiding aggressive cleaning agents that can weaken or fade the material. Cotton products should be cleaned thoroughly after each use to remove dirt and bacteria. Cotton can shrink or fade if not cared for properly. It is recommended to wash colored products separately to avoid staining. As cotton is highly flammable, it should be kept away from open flames and strong heat sources. Cotton products should also be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place to prevent mold growth and unpleasant odors. Tight-fitting cotton products such as underwear or bed linen should be changed regularly to avoid skin irritation caused by sweat build-up. Observing these instructions will ensure that cotton products are handled safely and hygienically and will retain their quality for a long time. Plastic Products containing plastics (without specific material indication) should be used with caution and in accordance with some basic instructions. Plastics can have different properties and compatibility, so it is important to use and care for the product according to the manufacturer's instructions. Direct sunlight and high temperatures should be avoided as they can lead to deformation or material damage. When cleaning, mild detergents should be used to avoid damaging the surface. Aggressive chemicals or harsh cleaning agents should be avoided as they can attack the plastic and shorten its service life. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and product care. People with known allergies to certain plastics should make sure that the product is compatible with them before use. Plastic products should no longer be used if they show signs of damage such as cracks or discoloration in order to avoid injury. Plastic products should be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain their quality in the long term.
Cleaning and hygiene | Please observe the manufacturer's instructions. These can be found in the product description or on the outer packaging of the product.
Packaging | The packaging of this product is made from recyclable materials wherever possible. Packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local recycling guidelines.
Disposal instructions | This product and its packaging must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with local regulations. The disposal instructions on the packaging must be observed. For electronic products, the WEEE guidelines for the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment must be observed. If a product is defective or no longer needed, it is recommended, depending on the type of product, to repair it or, if the product is no longer needed, to resell it via a second-hand market in order to extend its useful life and conserve resources. In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries or rechargeable batteries, the Battery Ordinance (BatterieVO) stipulates that batteries may not be disposed of with household waste. There is a legal obligation to return used batteries, which can be returned free of charge either to the seller (MEO Vertriebs GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str. 9, 45699 Herten) or to a municipal collection point in your area. Alternatively, batteries can also be sent to the seller by post. Batteries and rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. Next to this symbol is the chemical name of the pollutant. "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead and "Hg" for mercury.
